We have recently been made aware that a company called European Trademark Organisation S.A. (‘ETO’) is sending unsolicited and unofficial renewal reminders for Community trade mark registrations which are soon due for renewal. Whilst it appears that this company is legitimate, it has no connection with Forresters or Computer Patent Annuities Limited (“CPA”), who deal with many of our clients’ renewal requirements.
We have no reason to doubt that any renewal instructions would not be acted upon by ETO, but the quoted charges we have seen are considerably higher than those levied by us or CPA, and we cannot vouch for any aspect of their subsequent service.
We thus advise that you treat any communications from ETO with caution.
