I graduated from Salford University in 1972 having obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc., Electronic Engineering) and joined Potts Kerr & Co later that year and I became a partner in 1979. I have dealt with patents, trade marks and designs over a wide range of technical areas including electronics, electrical engineering, computer hardware and software, telecommunications, control systems, solid-state physics, photography, and general mechanical inventions, and have over 35 years experience in the field of Intellectual Property, having dealt with applications at all stages of prosecution before both the UK and EP Patent Offices and before OHIM and as well as national Patent Offices worldwide.

Outside work, I have tried most things including scuba-diving, skiing, flying (in a small plane), and motorcycling, and I try to keep fit. I enjoy good food and wine (my daughter is an award-winning chef), and my partner and I like travelling. I have a boxer dog and enjoy fish-keeping and gardening in my spare time.
