Leslie Prichard

European Trade Mark Attorney

I graduated from Bangor University in 1996 with a BEng in electrical engineering. I subsequently studied for a PhD on a project partially funded by a major US-based company developing very short duration pulsed magnetic fields in an attempt to probe the switching limits of magnetic recording media.

I have been with Potts, Kerr & Co. since 1999, and obtained a postgraduate certificate in intellectual property law from the University of Manchester in 2000. My work is mainly in the patent field identifying and protecting inventions for clients, as well as monitoring and advising on competitors’ patents. I am currently working towards gaining full qualification as a UK and European Patent Attorney. My main areas of experience include electronics, electrical engineering, computer hardware and software, telecommunications, magnetic recording, circuit protection devices, packaging materials and processes. I also have experience on all aspects of trade mark and design law in both the UK and Europe.

Outside of work, I am kept busy by my two sons and have taken various leadership roles in the scout group they attend. At present, I help to run a beaver colony! I also enjoy camping, hiking and running, and relish the totally unique feeling (and utter relief) that occurs when you complete a marathon.
