Ross Walker

UK Chartered Patent Attorney,
European Patent Attorney,
European Trade Mark Attorney

For my sins, and with a technical background of biochemistry, I primarily specialise in providing IP advice in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. I particularly enjoy, and am well versed in, contentious work including oppositions and litigation. In this regard, I was part of the team that successfully defended Angiotech Pharmaceutical Inc's patent directed towards a paclitaxel eluting stent before the House of Lords here in the UK.

I joined Forresters from Potts, Kerr & Co. as a qualified European Patent and Trade Mark Attorney back in 2001 and became a partner in April 2006. I became a partner of Potts, Kerr & Co. in 2008.

I was born in the great city of Glasgow, Scotland and spent my formative years being brought up in Johannesburg, South Africa. As such, I qualify as one of the few members of the great “SpringJock” race with a passion for rugby, biltong, square sliced sausage, haggis and the mutton pie.

In my spare time, when I am not being a father to my two kids, I like to play as much sport as possible. At the moment, my sports of choice are tennis and golf. Although, in the case of golf, when someone asks me what my handicap is, I tend to reply that I like to think that it is my golf clubs that are holding me back!
